Default got a question on ls-vtec

ok i know this might not be the place to be but i have hatchback. and my buddy is selling me his 96 ls motor for $900 thats with ecu trans and whatever i need, i was thinking if i get it do the Ls-Vtec conversion, i need to know how much power this puts out and if it better in then the b16a1 motor. in the long run or whatever the dis and advantiges are? thanks for the help

if built CORRECTLY an ls/vtec motor will be very powerful and last long. I would expect to spend at least 3g's on a good ls/vtec setup. I would say just keep the ls motor and boost it. Thats just me though. You will want a b16 or gsr tranny as well, the ls tranny isn't suited for a vtec setup

You may want to post this in the hybrid forum. But to help you out ls/vtec's have alot of power more than a stock b16 for sure. And if built right will last quite some time. But will not last as long as a b16a1,2 or gsr. engine. So if you want reliable i would stick with putting my money on a gsr or a b16.

My friends 96 LSVTEC INtegra runs mid 14's with Injen SHort ram, Airmass bullshit ceramic header and 2.5 inch bottle neck exhaust with 17" rims and a heavy *** wings west body kit and spoiler....Just to let you k now how fast it is...

It needs to be done correctly. Then you should get not problems and good power, especially in the lower to mid rpms. That's why people do it.
