Default going into the danger zone

A kid chalenge me to race his 93 Eagle Talon tsi. The only down fall is that he is all wheel drive TURBO with alot of mods done. Im running a 80 shot right now, but I want to bump it up a little to 100 shot and take his 300 bucks!!!!! I dont know how reliable it would be, and would it be safe? I have been running an 80 shot for 1 year now and went through two 10lbs. bottles so far and not thing wrong. If any one ran 100 or more shots on there stock block gs-r tell me how it went and how long did you run it for?

What does "a lot of mods" mean for the talon? If he has the works done to it, your in trouble. Sounds like you have a very quick setup going by your signature, I don't know how much lower your time would be if you were at sea level so its tough to say.

Its all stock internals right now. All I have is skunk 2 stage 1 cams and gears, b&m fpr, intake, 4-1 headers and my 80 shot wet system single fogger NOS. The kid with the talon has a 20g turbo, big *** front mount and apexi afc and boosting about 19psi... roomers say he runs high 12's low 13's. Just tierd of him down talking our Hondas. I would probably run like mid to low 12's not sure... I would love to take it to sea level and find out.

pshh...i raced a grey one, early 90s, tsi. There nothing man. I raced on with just exhaust on my car, back a year ago or so, and he was bone stock. That thing was pathetic. I walked it in 2nd gear by like 3 cars, hit 3rd and there wasnt a point to list how far ahead i was.

10 years of daily driving can do alot to a motor. Im sure that tsi isnt running now, even close to what the advertised hp was when it was new. Seems especialy turbos seem to not last all that long.

i didnt read that part, but still, if your pushing an 80 shot, you should be able to take him.

I ran a mild to heavely modded prelude, i was running a 55shot, and walked past him with ease.

Bottom line....You wont know until you trie tho.

If hes rumored to run high 12s to low 13s, and your running low 13's, just make a good day and get your launches. i say you have a pretty good chance.

Yea it should be a really close race. Going to be playing alot of catch up. And might try to up the NOS jet from a 43 to a 46 and keep the same fuel jet since im running 10/1 air fuel mixture.

bandi is 5800ft, and with your set up i really dont think your your gona run 12s with that set up. ive seen people with more mods and pro tuneing run less than that at bandi the thinner air really kills n/a times, its not so bad on turbos tho

Food for thought-

If you blow your motor, is it worth it?
