Default Gauge Cluster Question

Hey i'm just here to find out some info real quick, i know it's probably been asked before buutttt here it goes.

My friend bought a JDM gauge cluster for his DA (1993) and can't figure out how to install it.

The reason for this topic is because I am currently in RI at school so can't get down to CT to take a look.

Wondering if there is anything you guys can do for us... thanks a lot in advance

It's a straight plug in and play. What is there to not understand?

What do you mean remove the trim? Like take off the plastic protecting the face of the guages?

There are 6 clips, 3 on top, 3 on bottom, and then 2 metal brackets you have to unscrew on top.

That's it.

Wow, if your friend is not mechanically inclined at all, tell him to not touch it otherwise he will end up breaking all the clips.

No i am trust me i'm a Blackhawk Mechanic in the Army, being "mechanically inclined" isn't the problem. Ok so i took the two srews out just above the gauge clust then i went under and took the single screws to the left and right of the steering collum. Now the WHOLE thing wants to come out from the vent to the left of the steering wheel where the cruise controll is all the way to the fan strength and cold/heat dail. This is where i am having a problem. Everything is popped out EXCEPT the part by the fan strength selector, cold/heat all the climate controll bottons and what not. I tried gently prying at it with a flat head skrew driving to see if it would "pop" out but to no avail. So, does anyone know how to get it off?

Just stick a flathead under it, if this is the first time, its not going to easy w/ those clips. You just going to have to yank, but make sure to disconnect the sun roof switch from the back, that switch does not pop out like the other 5.

Yeah, on the left side of the interior, that vent, you should be able to pull it out for enough, to disconnect both the power mirrors and the sunroof switch. And then you can yank the thing over the steering wheel, and then you just have the 4 screws holding the cluster in.
