my gas tank is messed up. i bought this car(95 ls) and it is giving me a hard time around these days. even if i fill up the gas, the needle doesn't go all the way to F. it only takes 11 dollars to fill up the whole tank!!! i think there is a problem with the gas tank, but not sure. i talked to the previous onwer, and he doesn't knwo why either. what is wrong with this gas tank??

 

could be dented inward, causing the gas tank to be smaller. hence less gas going into it.

 

what can i do to fix it?? if i let mechanic to do it, will it be hard to fix it?

 

have you tried filling up in different gas stations? I had a problem like that before, I just topped it off with extra gallon or so.

 

yes i did, but still samething happened. i think the car was hit in the back. bu tnot sure if it bent the gas tank, but if i fix it, would it cost a lot?

 

i'd think it'd be a good idea to check regardless if it's been hit in the back......otherwise something bad could happen if you were hit again
