Fuel Filter question??
The current setup for my fuel filter is silicone rubber hosing from fire wall to input side of filter (held on with clasps), then silicone rubber hosing from the ouput of the filter to the fuel rail. I'm ovibiously not running the stock fuel filter so no banjo nuts or anything like that, just clasps holding the hoses on to the filter.
Question is the filter i have is dirty and i need a new one, where can I get a cylindrical filter (since stock won't work) with hoses fitting (something the hoses can slide onto) that can attach to either end like the present one i have. TIA

Ok just I'm looking for a universal fuel filter, atleast i think thats what i currently have(person i bought the car from had it hooked up this way, i have no clue what they used as a fuel filter)..................help anyone???
i think some of the late model GM's have cylindrical fuel injection fuel filters...
if you could go to a parts shop and have a look at the selection of fuel filters, i'm sure you could find something that works.
even if you don't want an el cheapo filter, at least you could have a part# and application, so you could get one elsewhere...

15 years ago I could recite an AC-Delco Part# but it's gone now.
I'm not sure about the "late model" thing above but many GM vehicles of the early to mid 80s had a cylindrical filter - maybe 5" long and 2-2 1/2" inches round with hose barbs (slide on the hose and use clamps).
Go to the parts store.
If you strike out, contact me and I'll get you a number. But it should be easy to find. Go to a parts store with an old guy behind the counter - he'll know.
Keep track of the number or buy 2 at a time - I'm guessing that these filters were not designed for the flow rates of high pressure pumps/fuel injection so you'll probably go through them faster.
