Friking pos!
Ok the problems started a couple weeks back when i started having trouble downshifting, ie at high rpm its very hard to downshift without actually forcing it into gear or perfectly rev matching. I was told that my synchros are going. But as of 2 days ago my clutch is having problems as well. Sometimes standing still at a light for example in first gear and the clutch all the way in the car starts sputtering like it wants to roll and die at the same time (clutch is not disengaging?)
But things got worse this morning. At least up to today i could still drive it. I get in, start the car, starts fine. Try to put it in reverse, nothing. I cannot get into any gears at all. It just makes a grinding noise when i try to put it in gear. But the grinding isnt coming from the shifter area like when you miss a shift, its coming from the nose of the car.... Could this all be related to a clutch problem? Before today i could still burn rubber on the 1-2 shift and i never smelled anything burning... I guess im going to have it towed to a shop tomorrow. I just want a definite answer. WTF is wrong with my car????

You broke one of the springs on your clutch.
You need a new clutch... this was very common with '94/'95 GSRs... first find out if the dealer can fix it under warranty, they issed a bulletin for it on the early cars and would replace your clutches for free.
If not, I suggest ACT street clutch; full disc.

I just noticed its a '94, is forget about that warranty thing... is it an OEM clutch or after market?
Honda trannies are usually pretty strong.... I mean people push 700HP w/those things, so that shouldn't have gone with a 14 sec. car.

Thanks for the reply. I was told its a factory clutch when i bought the car last year. I purchased it from an older man 50+, car was stock, i doubt he woulda lied to me. But the clutch pedal has always been very firm, my friends who have driven the car always tell me there is no way its a factory clutch....Would you happen to know where i can get an act clutch for a good price?
clutch spring most likely got fucked...one broke on my stuck clutch and it wouldnt go into gear AT ALL.....also look at replacing your clutch master and slave cylinders.....

Same thing happened to my 94 GS-R, except it went pretty much all at once in a blaze of glory on a 5 to 3 downshift when passing a truck on a busy highway.
If you ever need some excitement, I suggest somehow recreating that one...
Anyway, yeah, you probbaly need a new clutch. Mine felt fine until about 84k. I noticed it getting a little clunky, but not dramatic enough that I REALLY noticed until it was too late. Expect to pay about $600. Not too bad, really. And go ACT. You'll like it for sure.
Good luck!

My GSR clutch went at about 50k, running 14.7s with I/H/E too. Just got a Type R clutch and i love it. More mods and 30k later running 14.3 w/ITR clutch.
