brand new owner (bought her today)of a 91 Integra GS here. Was wondering if you could help me out on this one.

The idle likes to fluctuate between 1000-1500 while in "P" for a few good seconds before settling at about 1500rpm. This is after like a 30 min drive (haven't tested it yet on a cold engine). Car idles fine in "D". NO codes.

I'm not familiar at all with DAs, so when I popped the hood, I was quite confused with all the vacuum hoses. I was thinking that this could be a vacuum leak, but the idle does settle at 1500rpm eventually. I did a search here, but I'm just baffled because it does eventually settle and idle smooth. Can someone help me? Thanks

 

i would check the iacv vacume rountings and the valve itself had the same problem on my civic

 

unplug the IACV and see what happens. If it stays UP then there's a vac leak somewhere.

if it goes down, replace the IACV.
