i'm new to honda tech and i'm building my first turbo set up for my 94 Integra LS (130,000 miles)
i'm trying to do it for around $500 . i won't t3/t4 intercooled at 8 to 10 psi. some would say i'm being cheap but i've seen it done and though this is my first build its not my first car with a turbo 3000gt VR4 TT,
very hot car but got ragdy quick i only had it for 5 months and lifters started nooking and a little smoking, i got it up to 150mph from exit to exit in 5th gear she had 6 and said 180mph i knew i had to get read of it cause it cost too much to fix (brought it for $5800 and sold it for $8000, put $1200 in it.)
anyway getting to the point i need parts, ideas, and advice, i won't to do it right on a low budget, can anyone help, i found some major parts very cheap but can't buy them cause i'm a trial member i need to get around that. found Deltagate wastegate mark 2 for $60 and SSautochrome manifold B series T3/T4 flange for $75 i sthis good stuff or what just have to find out how to buy it from member while i'm a trial member, if have any other parts i'm interested but like i said have to buy it as a trail member. Any thought or ideas are welcome.

Your not going to have a decent set up with 500 dollar, the SSautochrome header is ****, it will crack on you and you will ending up spending more money for a new manifold. save up money and buy good stuff the first time. A decent manifold already ocst 500 dollar
...
...
From my experience diy turbos must be done right the first time. If not headache and dollars later it will end up being the same amount of money if you do it right at first

i'll look for another manifold what is a good one, i know its not smart but i plan to build it anyway i have a good deal on a t3/t4 .60 the guy is asking $125 for it its in jersey i'm in VA i have to find out the shipping cost i hope its in good shap i'll be doing a rebuild on the turbo anyway
i good mani alone cost 5 hundred...you better find another 0 to go with that 500.
Junk yard turbo is your other option. also i would stay straight t3 if your going NON intercooled.

He doesn't seem to be too concerned w/ reliability or doing it right the first time. While that gets a big
from me, he's gonna end up doing what he wants to do.
You really need to research a LOT more. Don't just say "I want a Delta wg and a SSautochrome mani" when you don't know any of the pros/cons. The SEARCH button in the FI forum is j00r friend
I guess it couldbe said that you really don't have much to lose. Hell, if this thing blows up on you, you can get another '94 LS w/ 133K for like 3K.
The thing that concerns me MOST, however, is that you plan on using 0 Fuel management. As any well seasoned member here will agree, Proper Fuel Management is the single most important componant when putting together a FI setup. Different from your vR4, Honda engines were NEVER built with turbo in mind. Don't get me wrong, you can build a SIIIICK LS/Turbo, but NOT without GOOD Fuel management.
I would plead with you to at least spend a few hundred more $, and get Uberdata, Hondata, or at the very least, VAFC
Good luck w/ everything

and you dont want that manifold they like to crack
the wastegate also like to creep boost
you get what you payfor
on a side not how do i get rid of the trail user status?

thanks for you advice and many people have told me to use a different manifold and it still may sound too cheap but like i said its been done round here and as a matter a fact i going to see a guy with the same setup in the same car running 10psi i'll try to hit you guys up with the details later
The only way you'd be able to have a decent turbo setup for that price is by picking up a used turbo kit from someone selling theirs cheap!
Buying the parts, you'd be hard pressed to but together a complete system for that.
For $500, you can forget intercooling! I mean, unless you have a junkyard that you can buy used OEM turbo parts for dirt cheap. Usually then you need to know what you are doing and how a turbo system works, etc. Not usually a first time project, unless you do tons of research and read books on turbocharging.
I learned a ton just from having a turbo kit. I think now I could piece together my own turbo system, but before this there is no way I would have gotten it right.

Sorry but it's not gonna happen for $500
do it right or dont do it at all
A good manifold and wastegate are crucial in a setup. Cheaping out on those is only waiting dor disaster.
You dont have alot of $$ to spend, and well frankly I doubt youd have the $$ to replace the motor when that wastegate spikes to 18 psi non intercooler and no fuel management
Not to mention the weld and brace job youll have to do to that manifold after it cracks.
$500 is an expensive headache if you ask me, your better off buying a $30 bottle of crown if you want a headache

excatly man.. if u want power for 500 then just get a n20 kit, but your not gonna be fully satisfied... turbos arent cheap.. you need that a nice mani and dp combo, some type of fuel management, guages to monitor... like aid b4 dont cheap out
I have put about 550-600 into my setup but luckily I know a lot of people willing to help me out...
T3 Turbo, HKS 2.6mm Head Gasket, TurboXS Boost Controller.$150
Manifold & DP(done by a friend who makes kick *** manifolds) $200
Starion FMIC..$80
DSM 1st Gen BOV..$2
DSM 450cc Injectors..Free!
Apexi VAFC...$50
Misc Piping, gauges, oil lines...$50-60
What i am trying to say is that if you know how to get parts really cheap, it can be done, but if your going to pay full price on something, make sure it is woth it...

theres no way you can build a decent set up with 500 bucks...unless you obtain parts illegally. i just dont see it happening. you have to remember theres like alot of hardware you will need, some kind of fuel management...the list goes on.. cheap parts will cost you big time in the end. save your money pal and then do it...just my 2 cents.

not to be talkin sh** but you got all that expensive sh** and you only got 26 extra horses for the money you spent on all that stuff i could be making well over 300hp thats not money well spent. Not talking sh** just telling the truth part out that stuff and make a LS/VTECH with your head.

ummmmmm, wait, WTF do you mean by only 26 extra horses. Spending the $$ for quality componants and quality FM/tuning adds a VERY substantial hp gain %
I would LOVE to see you make 300whp for $500 and have your car last you longer than 3 months

$500 is pushing it. Unless you get a deal on pipes and bends and can fabricate the downpipe and charge piping yourself, as well as weld on a cheap BOV, etc etc.
**** manifold - $75
Stolen turbo - $125
Oil Feed/Return - $75
Deltagate - $100
DSM BOV - $25
DSM Injectors - $50
DSM SMIC - $50
Youre already at $500, and you have no way to control fuel, no piping, and low budget parts that I already factored in you getting ridiculous prices on.
Like they say above, that manifold right off the bat is a bad start. It just cannot support the weight of the turbo, or even the WG. If I drove my car once a week, maybe Id run it for ***** n giggles...but it wont hold up to constant stress. I have an Inline Pro cast mani as recommended above for sale in my sig for dirt cheap...Id start there
Do it right the first time man, or dont do it at all.
