Default First Time At the Track

I went this past Saturday to Honda Day at English Town. Was lots of fun.

RT....... .473
60....... 2.520
330..... 6.667
1/8..... 10.076
MPH.... 70.72
1/4..... 15.501
MPH.... 90.30

This was in a 97 GSR with 115,000 miles with AEM CAI and Skunk2 short throw shifter. This was my first time and my tires aren't that great. I think if I get a good reaction time and 60 ft I can make it to around 15.2. What do you guys think?

I didn't think reaction time had anything to do with E.T.'s? From my understanding reaction time mattered when racing against an opponent? Correct me I'm wrong.

its all relative to E.T.'s the faster you get off the line, the closer you are to the finish in a lesser amount of time

You are correct...from talking to people at the track, they said if your not racing heads up, then you should make sure to get a good launch over a quick one.

went to E-town as well. 14.9 for me in my full interior 97 integra LS. The 100+ degree weather didnt help the cars out any either. toooo hot to be running that day

god this forum is full of so many idiots. here we go.

a. you ran what you should in a stock gsr. but you could be faster, work on 60's. lower tire pressure, figure out what launch works, etc.

b. reaction time doesnt effect times.

c. 15.2 would be your cars limit i would think. unless you have one of the "freak gsrs" but with 115k on the clock w/such minimal mods, i'd say you'd be lucky to hit that 15.2

/thread.

If you can drop your 60' down to about 2.2 you should be able to get a 14.90 give or take out of it. On a car like yours you can figure 1 tenth at 60' should equal 2 tenths at the big end.

That being said you can have a 2.555 reaction time and still run a 15.5. When going for an ET reaction time matters not one bit. Only matters when you race someone. It can be a .473 R/T and run a 15.501 while the guy next to him has a .085 light and runs a 15.784(on a .000 light that is). The 15.7 will win. But the 15.5 is still a better time.

Thank you for clearing things up. The first two times I ran 15.9, then 15.7, 15.6 and finally down to 15.5 on my last run. I was just starting to get the hang of it. Hopefully when it's cooler (September/October) I will be able to get some better times in.

no **** there is a lot of bad info floating around here...welcome to the internet ...calling everyone idiots doesn't solve that.
Either correct it or ignore it.

When I do a search, I look for a concensus, and verify the info to make sure it's accurate.
And we are far from the most pathetic area on the site...have you been to kills or the cosmetic forum lately

There are plenty of good knowledgeable integra people in this forum, and I'm not going to make a blanket statement blasting them or the forum just because a bunch of noobs like to post when they have nothing to say.
