I took my head off to check a few things and I've got it all put back together.. Problem is, I get gas, I get spart, I cant figure out why it wont run! I know my timing is off but I dont think it would do that JUST because of that. I can smell the gas on the spark plugs but when I took the one out of cyl. #1 it gave me a spark. I dont think you can put the distributor on incorrectly. *sigh* Just take a guess at best people!! Please help! Thanks!

Edit : Doesn't even sound like its trying to start up.. like its missing the spark or is out of gas.

if your timing is off THAT MUCH, it won't start. remember timing determines when the spark plug fires, if the piston isn't at or near TDC on the compression stroke, it won't start. what mods do you have? what were you doing when you pulled the head anyways?

Are you sure you got the cams in correct? If you have it off by one tooth it will be like by by valves.

 

I KNOW I got the cams correct...

I have the distributor set in the middle somewhat near where it used to be... Only mod is a CAI and I took off the head to replace the head gasket and make sure that I didn't damage a piston before... But mainly the head gasket I'm going to take the fuel pump off to make sure it really does work (but I swear I smelt gas). This is just really weird!

Edit : When it turns over its pretty damn smooth so I dont think it has anything to do with my cams... ok? Just it say it one more time

AHHHH ****!! This is pissing me off!! First I take off the little pump on top of the peice that holds in fuel injectors only to get my *** sprayed with gas, than I lose my 10mm socket somewhere in my engine bay AND THAT ******* BIRD WONT SHUT UP!! I finally chased him around the god damn room a few times til he couldn't fly anymore...

Anyway, I was just wondering, when I take off that pump, was the spary supposed to be strong enough to get on my wall? I'm guessing yes... Ok, if I have fuel and spark, what else am I missing? And dont tell me compression because I KNOW I have that. I dont get it!! Why is it doing this!

Edit : Plus I'm getting feeling back in my toe so I wont be able to work for much longer... if I dont get it today I'm goina go ******* mad because I need to be at that DMVR meet!
