Default engine turn OFF...

ok here is tha deal. my bro has a 98 gsr with b16. the previous owner blew or got the engine stolen or something. n e ways its been about 3 months since ma bro had the car and today while he was going 65 mph the car just turned off. he was just crusing in 5th gear and the whole car turned off outta no where. and when he started the car back up, the engine light came on. any advise or things i should look for? i have no clue what is wrong with it. if anyone know whats wrong then post it up please.

I had a similar problem with an EG I had a long time ago. It turned out to be the distributor. I'm not saying that that's your problem, I'm just saying that it's a possibility.

i was driving and the car died on me. but your bro got lucky cuz mine didnt restart.

burnt ignition coil.

i'd check the ignition system

I'm leaning towrads Clarborn also...possible coil. If the check engine light came on, why not pull the code and find out what that is ? That might be the solution to you problem.
