Default Does this reduce light by a lot?

from regular chrome housing headlights for 98 integra to a painted black housing.

i personally think the black would look better but if its gonna totally kill the HID effect, then forget it.

any input anyone?

I have not tried this. My worry would be that the housing would get hotter from the higher absorbance caused by the black paint.

The light is emitted by the projector unit, which has its own reflector. The chrome surrounds on the Integra headlamp housings are essentially just cosmetic. You can paint them black and still have just as much light put on the road.

painting the chrome pieces black will not effect light output. mine was like that for a year and didnt notice a difference.

Lowering your car will not make a difference. How do i know? I'm slammed.

You want brighter lights? Do yourself a 9005 conversion. Night and day difference. or get real retrofitted hid's

The Silverstars are terrible for durability. Mine only lasted 8 months. No thanks.
