Default Does this make sense

Ok, GSR Cams make power up to 7600 RPM, correct? and referring to my dyno plots, i made peak HP at 7600 RPM. So when i am at the track, should i be shifting a little past that point, since my HP is dropping after 7600? Because usually when i am at the track, i shift right before rev limiter, and the best i could get was a 15.0 at 94mph with 2.48 60ft. Would it help to shift at 7600 since that's when my car puts out most HP?

You want to shift at the highest rpm possible. Why?
Because that will put you higher up into the powerband in the next gear.

but why would u be in the powerband, where you aren't making good power, if my shift from 2 to third puts me at 7Grand, then it would be better to not go all the way to 8100, so it can drop down a little farther maybe to 6- 6500. right?

You make more power at 7100 rpms than 6500. And just because you peak doesn't mean that it's not making good power after it.

You shift when the torque multiplacation to the wheels is more in the next gear than it is in the current. With GSR's this does not happen, so shift at redline.

Amen... The car is making more hp at 8000 than 6500... so you make more power for longer, shift into part of the powerband with more horsepower. I'd show it to you with a dyno but i cant find one with the rpm's going past 7600

Also 15.0 is pretty good for a stock GSR, even one with a few minor mods

trap speed is good for 14's. You're 60 foot can be improved...that's where you're gonna find the 14's.

Your car is pretty fast considering you had such a bad 60 ft time.

thank you, hopefully, i will be in the high 14's with some decent rubber on there. still on stock michelins. Cam Gear settings are just winged, haven't been on dyno to tune them yet. Should be going soon though. I just hate hearing about 2K (obd II ) gsr's running 14's with just CAI. Not that' i'm not happy for them, but i wonder if it the driver? or the car's strength?

Tune those gears, get some sticky rubber, and maybe try some Z10 radius arms to get rid of wheel hop. I hear those things do wonders for 60-ft. times.
