difference in hp between '90 and '95 integra
I'm looking to do a motor swap in my del sol and i stumbled across a 1990 B18. I was thinking of doing a '94 or 95 B18 but haven't found any. So I'm now wondering if I either got lucky at Pick N pull and should pick up the motor now or is there a reason i found the B18 out of a 1990 integra? i looked up the difference in power and it looks like the 1990 has 130HP and the 1995 has 170 HP, if I at least put on a VTECH head would i gain any of that lost power or should i just keep looking for a '95 B18?
Also, if i built the internals on the 1990, new pistons, bore and stroke, would that be beneficial?

lol the only 170hp b18 is the gsr. you dont want just a 94 95 you just want a gsr engine.
you could try to build an lsv using a b18a/b bottom with a gsr head, but then youll blow it up with too many rpm for the stock rods/rod bolts.
I guess you could try building a mean ls engine but cost wise you wont beat the gsr without spending double in parts.

so you're saying to pass this one up and keep looking for a gsr motor? i plan on building something quick and fun that could handle nitrous. not exactly for racing though.
if you want power and dont want to have to build an engine from the ground up go vtec. unless youre hellbent on not having vtec like I am. (I only want 300hp boosted so ls is perfect for me. I also got a killer deal on a built head with nice cams.)
