debating of weight vs hp&tq's on the same engine
the other day my friend and i, we were debating about weight vs hp tq on dyno
debate topic based on stock gsr in Civic Coupe vs stock gsr (same engine) in CRX
well. I told him that; it's doesnt matter for the gsr engine got swapped in any car, when dynoing for the actual hp & tq, both curves in both cars will come up closely. However, the time that takes from 0-60 will decreased, since the car is lighter, and of course 1/4mile too (though, im not sure about other factors like: handling, braking..etc) Then i told him, some factors during the dyno such as temp, humidity, car condition on the dyno could be the cause of different hp in both car.
He was totally disgree with me. He stated "if placing the gsr engine in a lighter car, and when dynoing that car. There will be an increase in hp and tq."
Conclusion, were both not sure for the detail of debate and as far as the answer for it. But, i have faith in my logic answer, because so far as a stock motor gsr in a lighter car there is no way for the motor to dynoed for high #hp unless you do something to it. But he got something that back him up, his friend actually does it and dyno both car, the result of the gsr in a lighter gained 4hp. Dynoing conditions are unknow, such as factors of the day, or on the same dyno machine, etc
i know, the only way to know the exact is put them on a dyno. But as far as this thread go...this is a debate, so exactly answers from dynoing are no need

it depends what dyno. some dynos are more accurate... they actually factor in wieght.... even wind resistance. thats why dyno numbers on my tuners dyno are lower. its how much horsepower your car has goin down the street not sitting in a room.
