Have to see pics to comment, I have 16s and like them, most 17s don't look too bad.

17s was the biggest I've had on my old DA tires were 215/40/17 the ride quality is horrible. even when I switched to 215/45/17 the ride quality is still bad. BUT the 17s definitely fill the wheel-well nicely though. I wouldn't use them for anything except for cruising. 16s would be the best for daily driving and some track use.

i am gonna say there are some ugly 17's in that list of pictures, but i nice set of 17's look good i think though... personally i'm probably gonna run 15's maybe 16's with a tire with a small side wall (like a 205/40/16) to keep the overall height of the wheel/tire radius down. the larger the radius the more work has to be applied in rotational energy, thus leaving you with less Tq on 17 than a 15 and so on... if it's that big a of a deal i think i can go back through my calcutaions and find the formulas i used and you can then do the math yourself...

but for some reason i have been liking this bumper lately

17's are a little too big IMO. The stock 14's didn't cut it for me either. Now I have the car w/ the 15" fat fives, and I'm loving that look. Too bad I just totaled it.

I feel you on that fat fives...I wouldnt worry about wieght ....IM in the process of building a dart block turbo hatch with a gt35 turbo..I own a Body SHop want a shop car with little performance and I want it to look good for a advertisment...Plus with gas prices I need a daily driver thats near to stock.S this is why I posted what I did...I dont want it ricey just clean,,,And your right some of those wheels are ugly I was using them as a reference for size...I can get some brand new 17"Volk te37 in silver from a local guy for about a grand....In the box...I think im just going to get them do the paint work And see how what kind off response it gets form customers....I think it should do well...

PS
I did see some with SI wheels and that set up looks hot...CHeap too

The gs-r blades or the fat fives look sexy on DA's. I like them especially because they're stock, so you can keep a stock/sleeper appearance on the car and still have a nice set of rims. I'm a big fan of a clean, simple looking car that surprises people w/ speed and that's what I was going toward until recently. In another aspect, even if it does look good everyone says it will ride like crap. I would keep it in the 15-16 range w/ a one-finger gap or less and it would be sexy.

so now all of a sudden if you put gold wheels on a car you're copying the STi? cause Porsche had also pud gold BBS's on their 928's along time ago. gold wheels is not a signature thing of Subaru. if i keep my car black she's either getting flat black Rota slipstreams or some gold wheel of choice i did not decide upon yet...

I think he was referring to the "blue and gold" that is commonly copied from the STi's, but I'm sure they're not the first to come up with it. I don't see a problem though, if it looks good, do it. I personally would pick a paint scheme that doesn't come on a stock car if I was going to change anything, just to be a little different.
