I've got a 96' GS-R, and the f*cking headlights keep fogging up since it started getting cold! I know it's not a big deal really but it's pissing me off. Does anyone know what I should check out to see why it's doing this? I'm using modified 9005 bulbs instead of 9006's for the headlights, has anyone heard of that causing a problem? Any help's appreciated...
just pm'd you
look at that fog.......................UGH
I just did the HID's, I need to aim them

Sorta curious as well. I notice my headlights are dull looking as well because I saw another 97 and his headlights were nice. BTW i use 9005s as well, if thats the culprit. But the previous 2 post made no complete sense..someone explain what they are trying to say

Yeah, I had the same problem. The problem is that you are getting water in the headlight assembly. What I did was take the front bumper off and removed the headlights. I then took the bulbs out and attached a shop vac to one of the bulb sockets and then pointed a hair drier towards the other one. After doing this and switching sockets a few times it was done in about 45 minutes. To keep the problem from happening again go to NAPA and purchase some silicone grease and gently spread that around your o-rings on the headlight. Mine haven't had an issue in well over a year now.

I had this problem a few months ago.
There is a write up on exactly how to do this but I can't find the link
Basicly once you have the lights out of the car...
turn oven to 400 degrees
Turn off oven
Place lights inside for 10 min
Pry apart lights
clean dirty inside of lights
Turn oven back on to 400 degrees
turn off oven
put lights back in for 10 min
put lights back together
run a bead of silicon around all the parts of the light for total seal.

You want to apply the silicon grease on the little rubber ring right @ the base of the light bulb. This is on the bulb, NOT the headlight. Becareful not to get it on the light bulb and do not use a lot, a little goes a long way.
arizsun21: On my car my problem was that water was getting around the seal on the 9005 bulb, not a problem with the headlight assembly.
