Default DA> Support Thread

I'm soo confused as to why the DA/DB has such a small array of aftermarket support, Its mind boggling to say the least. I'm trying to figure out a way to get the word out to manufacturers that we 'DA' Onwers wan't quality parts designed for 'our cars', not EF counterparts. Everyone i have contacted looking for this or that tells me that it will be releasing in the up comming months; 2 4 8 12 18 months later, no part. Whats the deal... Why are we the only chassis with little to no aftermarket support?

Anyone got any answers?

Remember guys our cars are 17-20 years old, most companies don't see it profitable to make parts for our cars anymore. Plus I haven't had too much trouble finding the parts I need. What are you looking for maybe I can point you in the right direction.

i think its a combination of both. yes its true companies wouldnt find it profitable to make aftermarket parts for DA/DB's, but its also a huge lack of support and love as well. the general consensus is that most people want 2door 5speed manual cars. The average person will appeal more to that than any other car on the market, and girls especially are keen to that. People think "oo 2door coupe/hatchback its stick it must b fast", i hear this all the time. Now i dont hate on 2 door cars at all, but they are honestly getting really overplayed. I personally drive an automatic DB8, and im loving every second of it. I get a lot of slack from some of my friends that arent too knowledgeable about honda's/JDM and they always say the same thing: Get a 2 door and switch it to manual So does by me switching to 5 speed give me bigger ***** or something? Im not going around saying my car is fast, but people automatically assume it is because i have some aftermarket parts. Thats why people hate on DA/DB8, its different to the average folk and they dont understand the essence and beauty of the car and the somewhat antique/vintage qualities they poesses. Again, not a hater on 2 doors or manual cars at all, my dream car is an FD so there you go

Its not exactly for the DA, Its for the EF, But works on the DA. Thats exactly my point, we are like the youngest in the family, we get everyones hand-me downs but infact we should be getting the good stuff. We don't have much specifically engineered to perform on our cars.

I believe eibach has another brand by the name of 'slp' that has adjustable ball joints made just for the da that's what i'm runnin'
they work great, and cost about half of what the skunk2's do, food for thought..

My retailer is Mike, from pit crew motorsports, and he can be reached at 626 573 1837 lemme double check on the brand name for you. It's deff a side company of eibach's tho sp, maybe? they'd be under the catagory of 'adjustable ball joints'

I am interested for sure, depending on quality. I need a good quality part as i do Autocrossing. Skunk2 is decent, i just dont like the fact that you have to sand it down to prevent the balljoint from sliding on it.

cool, glad to offer an alternative I am all for skunk2 parts, i have several of their goodies on my car,but the arms were only avail for dc2 at the time, which worked out better in the long run i suppose. Autocrossing huh? always wanted to track my car, but i'm not much for classes/rules unless it's in reguards to saftey..Need to do more reasearch i guess. I'm sure there's an 'open' class for hybrid/boosted motors? tried to upload pics, but the god namn comp keeps telling me i'm missing a 'security token'?? pm'd a system admin, but to no avail

As i stated earlier, quality is good, as it is an eibach company and i went ahead and got the correct company name for you(it's SPC,d'oh!, sorry!) and the part # for our cars is SPC67135, and you can look at them on this website
www.sfxperformance.com hope this helps
