ok so i picked up another da the other day for cheap

the car has a rough idle and doesnt sound healthy. i know the car need a new water pump because i can hear the bearings moving around. the car also needs a new cam seal on the timing belt side which is all getting done over the weekend.

other than that i know the car had a blown headgasket, i know its been replaced but idk exactly what the headgasket caused as far as the rest of the motor goes.

my question is what else coulda possibly happened to the motor? i do know the coolant resevior has the blacked out look but idk what else i should check or replace?

my other question is my temp gage and my mph on the cluster are not working. how can i trouble shoot them? i checked behind the cluster and everything is connected correctly.

Swap out a working cluster, this way u'll kno if its the cluster or the wiring that's faulty
