You should feel the difference.

You should feel the difference.
it will pull all the way to redline.. however you will feel a slight bog between 4500-6000 rpm from an improper vtec engagement setting. to correct this you need a VAFC or another vtec controller

stock p72 computer should redline at 8200 or 8400 i forgot but u can take it up to there no problems!!

however since u already have the head out might as well upgrade the valvetrain to portflow inner/itr outter valve springs combo. good for up to 9k, and u dont even need to go up to there with CTRs!! and stock retainers are fine up to that point also. that's my current valvetrain setup with Toda As and i set my rev limit at 8800

you can rev all the way up to the stock limiter w/ no problems. (why would changing out cams alone make your rev limit lower than stock? )

As long as you don't plan on revving past your stock redline, you will be fine. If you can afford it, upgrade the valvetrain at the same time, since these are from a a car that redlines higher. If you can't afford it, just stick with cam gears, a VAFC and tuning.

I have the ctr cams and they made peak power at 7500rpm. So you dont need to go pass 8000rpm

I have CTR intake cam only and I lost peak with it. I pulled a 157 with just IHE last year, 155 this year. I need a VAFC. It was on a different dyno and other factors came into play, but the cams are useless without tuning in terms of top end.

The CTR redlines at 8200 rpm. If you could get your GSR to pull safely to 8200 or even higher with CTR cams, imagine the power you can get?

OK,

I'll bite.

Check this out: http://www.geocities.com/dynocenter/95gsr_fb.html

Way back when I actually owned a Honda. 173 HP and 124 TQ with CTR intake cam, stock valvetrain. Field or VAFC make a big diff. Also need cam gears, I think I was at +2/-2.

Good luck!

i have a ctr intake cam in my 94 gsr w/ 148k on my motor.......i have all bolt ons and chipped ecu like you, as well as adj cam gears. I noticed a difference, especially in the top end.....as soon as you hit vtec, it jumps to redline a lot quicker than stock gsr cams. Just be sure you dont rev past 85k!
