Cost of lowering?
How much should I expect to pay for a shop to install new springs and shocks?
I called up one shop by me and they quoted me at around 260-280, (i think that might be including an alignement too though) is that about an average price or is that a too much?

I paid 90 bux here in So. Cal. But make sure you get an alignment like you said and if you have neg camberm get a camber kit. Cause you can end up paying for some new tires in the future if you ignor it.
do it yourself for christ sakes....its a really easy thing to do.
the bushing is all messed up. i duno what to do. its frozen to the screw.

I agree I've done about 15+ spring/shock installs in my lifetime and NO I don't work for a shop.. all using hand tools too... just doing it for friends, my own cars, etc... its not a hard thing to do just kind of tedious and dirty...its handy if you have a friend to help.. and use the jack (while the car is secure on jack stands) to raise the control arm to help get the bolts back in... make sure you get a 4 wheel alignment and that your toe is in check.. this will save your tires.. but if your camber is extremely excessive then you might look into getting a camber kit.. my car is lowered about 2" but I keep my alignment in check (lifetime alignment) and I don't really notice any odd or uneven wear... camber on my car ranged from -1.8 deg to -2.1 deg...but my toe is in spec...
I wouldn't pay over $100 ($25/corner) to get springs and shocks installed... I have all the tools so it wouldn't cost me anything... if you don't have tools.. the $100 you save on paying a shop to do it could probably go toward buying most of the tools needed (sockets, ratchet, (mechanics tool set) breaker bar, hex keys, spring compressor(purchase or rental), anti-seize, pb blaster/penetrating lubricant, jack, jack stands, etc) and in the end you have tools you can keep and use to work on other things on the car
and also you gained knowledge/learned how to do it yourself.. check out these links:

Cool thanks for the replies guys!
I usually try and do all my mods. to my car myself but I was a little unsure about this one, however if its as easy as you guys say it is maybe I will go ahead and give it a try, its always good to learn not to mention saving a little cash!

Was gonna do it myself but this was my first mod to the car and did not want me dad bitching at me while I was doing it. It's really not that hard. Helped my friend put in ground controls in his civic last time. Just make sure you have a spring compressor.
