Clutch problems...
So my 94 gsr all of a sudden took a crap. The clutch pedal seems to be stuck and I can't get the car into gear. I sprayed the **** out of where the rod behind the clutch pedal that goes into the firewall is and also the general area in there with wd-40. It seemed to work fine and shift into gear smoothly for awhile. Now it's just getting bad and it's as if the pedal is mucked up or sticky or something. I don't know what to do. I've searched a bit and people are saying replace the clutch master cylinder or replace the slave cylinder and these seem to be cheap options. I got a brother who is a certified toyota mechanic and he just says "the clutch is dead". What do I check first? This all seemed to happen about a few months ago when it started getting cold and damp. Did I just aggravate some dirt and grime in there or what? I can shift into all the gears just fine when the car is off.
I am aware that replacing the clutch requires taking out the tranny and is quite expensive. I have also read that it could be a matter of replacing the slave and master cylinder? I am pretty mechanically inclined so I would like to take care of this myself if possible. Also the fluid levels were fine, not sure what it is exactly that I checked but the reservoir for the clutch is fine.
Is there any way to determine what exactly needs to be done? I am not quite sure about how it all works so any tips or tricks would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Hate to break it to you, but barring some amazing event...it's probably the clutch master cylinder. It is a very common in hydraulic clutch civic and integras. They leak where the rod comes through the firewall. You won't be able to tell now because you sprayed it with WD-40, but if you look up under your dash at this spot it was probably leaking. Also check your slave cylinder for leaks, but I would put money on the master cylinder. Good luck!
Yes I checked the fluid. So I am guessing where the rod that goes into the firewall behind the pedal there, that is supposed to be pressed back towards the driver normally by a cylinder of some sort? Is this the slave cylinder? Master?
I also wanted to note that when I pulled back the rubber stopper seal thing that surrounds the rod and connects to the firewall I definitely noticed a ton of goop and dirt and dark crap that was in there. I cleaned it all out with a toothbrush and rag. Does this mean it was leaking?

] That thing you see under there is part of the master cylinder. The other part of it is on the outside obviously in the same general area just on the other side of the firewall. You may have gotten some air in the system, so bleed it first and go from there like you posted. Good luck!
