Default Clutch problem! Help!!

I have a 96 gsr with an ACT 6 puck clutch and have 2 problems when shifting and 1 when trying to launch.
1. I had a repair shop put it in and when I got it back, it was hard for me to shift into 3rd, almost grinding.
2. When driving my car the clutch is stiff and that is a good thing. Sometimes, though, it's not stiff, but really soft and I feel my car is not as powerful as it is when the clutch is stiff. I mean you can really tell a difference when your gasing the car. Is there a problem with my tranny?
3. When I try to launch at about 3000 rpm you can smell the clutch burn. What is the cause of this?

Man next time I'm gonna do this **** myself. I hope they did.
I didn't ask because they always work on my car. Its a family owned shop and has been there for what I remember 18 years.
I have a civic with the with a b18b and same clutch. The only problem with that is 3 rd is hard to get in at high speeds or it might be caused by the loose shift boot, and maybe I dont shift straight. DC2s are so much better. But I cant deny the fact that my civic is so much quicker.

There is no reason for the clutch to get softer and stiffer since the load is basically generated by the diaphragm spring. There must be friction in the linkage or something else causing this. In any case, it should not change the power you are feeling, only the pedal effort. For further discussion call our tech line at 661-940-7555 and speak to Richard. You can email me instead at dstarksen@advancedclutch.com. I don't generally handle tech calls but I would be glad to assist you.
