Climate Control Lights
Hey guys,
Ok, I know about how to change the climate control buttons, etc. to have a different color light by putting amber, or red film behind the buttons. Thats all good and well, but when I was just starting to do this and looking at my climate control buttons, I was thinking there has to be a better way.
There obviously has to be bulbs somewhere to give these bad boys their light, does anyone know how to get to those lights? I just want to replace the bulbs to a color I want. I know this is going to be more involved, but I dont really care.
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks H-T in advance

You could always use a white bulb and get some film from a hobby store that reflects in red instead of going through the hassle of looking for a red bulb. Just a suggestion!

Amber is good and all, but I want something different, and something to go with the rest of the theme of the car...hense the red. I know about the red film that I could put in there behind the buttons, but I would like to just replace the bulbs.
So does anyone have info on bulb size? And how difficult this is going to be?

I'm fairly certain, but in no way absolutely positive, that the bulbs are 74 bulbs. As in, thats the size, similar to how the dash lights are 194. I believe that there is 1 bulb per button.
Be sure you post pics when you are swapping them out, and a nice before/after shot.

Don't know about size but there are 4 bulbs that light up the climate control and 1 bulb for the hazard button and 1 bulb for the rear defroster. So a total of 6. I just bought a JDM climate control and it had no bulbs so I had to switch them from my USDM one. I can take pics of where the bulbs are located if you want.
if you are talking about the green or orange lights above the buttons when you push them and they come on, they are bulbs or leds that are soldered to the PCB, there are little bulbs for the rest of the button lighting and stuff, I converted all mine to blue.
Im talking about the bulbs that light the buttons white. Not the lights that show that the button is activated. Which lights did you turn to blue now? The activation bulbs? Or just the bulbs that turn on when your headlights are on?
Everything is fixed now
Sorry for the crappy pics, my camera sucks. Anyway you're going to need to remove the whole climate control to change the bulbs. It takes less than 5 mins theres a guide of Team Integra. http://www.team-integra.net/se...D=586
These are the bulbs light up where the AC and all the buttons to control which vent the air comes out of.

This is what contols if cool and hot air comes out and the amount of air.

This pic came out really bad but that little square brown box that is circled, pull that out and thats the bulb for that one. The little circle on the top of the button is the light to show that it's activated. Btw this is the rear defroster button.

This is the hazard button.

Btw, to get the bulbs out just get a small screwdriver or something and put it in the little groove and turn it counterclockwise and they should slide right out. Good luck man.

First off, thanks so much for posting the pics!
So is it just two bulbs that light up all the buttons that control where the air is vented, etc? I know that the hazard, and defrost buttons are seperate, but all the rest? That would be convinient.
Thanks again bro!

One sec getting another pic to clarify things up.

The top portion that is circled, that's what the bulbs in the first pic will light up.
The bottom portion circled is what the bulbs in the second pic will light up.
Hoped that helped you.

yea dude! Thanks so much for the pics, that was a huge help. Im gonna try and tackle this project this weekend. I will keep everyone posted on the progress. I just hope someone around my area has those bulbs in red
Are these the right size bulbs? size 74... http://autolumination.com/74.htm
There was a guy on this site that used to sell this cool 3M transparent tape. It came with a red tape, and orange...When used in combination would produce a nice amber color.
