check engine light always on

Default check engine light always on

i have a check engine light on that wont blick but stay on if i quickly jump the key (while driving) it will turn off untill i let off the gas pedal any suggestions

thats the thing it wont even throw a code its just stays on i dont know if its the ecu or my ostrich

are you jumping the service connector when you attempt to pull codes?

Ostrich?

If you cannot jumper the service connector to read the codes, go to a local auto parts. They should read the codes for free with a scanner.

i tryed jumping it and it just stays on and nobody i know has a obd1 scanner i dont have the connector i just have a wire to ground i have a 94 gsr built head on top of a 2000 b16 block stock gsr tranny gsr ecu with a chip the ostrich 2.0 and a swap obo 0 with the obd1 in a 89 hx hatch

do you have a knock sensor? maybe your ecu isnt reading it cuz you dont have one and causing it to stay on like my buddys

You don't want to ground the connector, per say. You want to take a like paper clip and jump the two terminals in the connector. I'm not sure though if you can just do that with the other program your using. Is there any other symtoms??

i dont have a connector i just have a single yellow wire well its seem that i tried everything it seems that i need to send it to a shop and see what thay can do i was wanted to change it to hondata and get a good tune out of it see im thinking some thing got step on or it got wet.

i also need some free downloadable gsr wire skidmatics?

when i talk about ostrich i was talking about the 28pin connector that connects to the ecu the ribbion cable and or the chip sorry about the confussion also last night i disconnected the jumper wire and ran stock gsr map started the car and had no check engine so hopefully that means i have a good ecu still or the chip wasnt getting a good connection. What do yall think
