Anyone ever get this CEL? It comes and goes. When driving if it comes on, all I need to do is turn the ignition off and back on again and it's gone. Anyone ever have this same CEL? Also...yes I know how to check codes and read the blinking patterns. 7 long followed by 9 short blinks right after...no pauses. I'm running a chipped P28 if that helps.

 

I don't believe there's a code P79.

I know there's a not a CEL 79...but for some apparent reason I'm getting it. I'm wondering if it's just an ECU issue at this point. I'm gonna try swapping ECUs to see if the issue goes away.

 

who chipped your ECU and tuned it? might want to give them a call and see if theres anything special that they did that would cause that code

 

A buddy of mine that tunes cars locally did it. Funny thing is it did this after I took it in to get my car washed along with engine bay washed.

 

sounds like water damage on one or more of the wires/plugs.
