cat. vs testpipe
depends on OBD 1 or 2
OBD 1 doesn't care about the CAT efficiency (edit: AFAIK), but OBD2 does and it will throw a code if your cat isn't efficient (which if you don't have one it will deffinately not be efficient).
so if you have OBD2, you either have to get a test pipe that has the CAT material by the O2 bung (so that it approximates the CAT for the sensor, or do the resistor thing, you can search I am sure to find out how to properly fool your system into thinking the CAT is functioning properly without a CAT actually there, but seeing as it is highly illegal to use on the street, i am sure you are only doing this for the benefit of the track, and not having to reset your ECU after each race event, right?

the technian said my cat convertor isn't working which is causing an exhaust leak, it makes a rattling sound whenever i hit 3500 rpm and then goes away. so if my cat isn't functioning properly is my OBD2 sending a different code to my ECU? wat does the code do? how will it affect my car? and how can i fix it when i put in a testpipe
