I have a 96 gsr while i was driving i stopped at a stop sign. while waiting my car just idles off like i stalled out. so i turn it back on and it did it again. afte the third time it worked fine. but later on that night while driving home i was in 4th gear and it choked a little for some reason and my car just surged and then my powersteering went off and it was really hard to turn. and it surged again and it came back to normal. and it between the surges i would go step into the clutch and switch gear and accelerate it wouldnt budge one bit. rpm doesnt move like my car was just rolling. please help me thanks.

 

check your timing and all your belts and pulleys

 

thats more than likely the timing alright. if the problem still persists, check your map sensor and all other air/fuel sensors.
