Hi everyone..i'm having this little problem with my car... it seems that sometime my car would take a little while to even start...like when you turn the key usually it should start right away right??? well this happens randomly that I turn the key and I could hear it trying to start and then after like 2-3 seconds then vrooom it starts...??? this happens when the car is cold or warm???? ooo I got a 98 GSR... have maganecor spark plugs... and everything else is still stock??? anyone have any idea what's happening??? Thanks!!!!
hmm low on gas... never thought about that... but I always fill the tank before it the light comes on.... but I don't really think it's the gas......hmmm but I'll see what happens tomorrow... so anyone else know what other things can cause this??? thanks!

I had that happen periodically(every 3 to 5000mi) too. Mine hasn't done it in a while. I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets worse.

I've been having the same problem ever since I installed my aem fuel rail/regulator. It happens when the car has been sitting for a while.
nope no fuel rail for me... completely stock.... except for the wires... thanks for all your replies.. but it seems like it's not anything you guys mentioned??? I dropped by the post office the other day... came back out 30 mins later(damn slow post office !!!) started the car and it took a while to crank it up ???? maybe it's my spark plugs???? ooo and I did advance the timing but that was months ago!!!

MIne too. Not frequent enought to worry me, and it runs fine once it's going.
It's never NOT started, so no big deal as I see it...
After owning a Bug that required me to jam a screwdriver into the starter motor to get it going (and always leave it in neutral, kids!), I'm perfectly fine!
My mechanic said not to worry about it.

Re: Car taking a while to start???? (chairmankaga)
The reason I asked is that the factory FPR holds pressure in the fuel rail, so when you start it the injectors are already primed. With a aftermarket FPR, it bleeds off the pressure over a few seconds and the injectors are not primed. So it takes a few seconds to get the fuel to the injectors again.
Try this next time. Turn the key on, and just before the lights turn out on the dash, crank it over. You may find that the car starts easier that way.

Sounds like fuel delivery to me, but it's hard to say. It could be spark timing as well. But it you haven't messed with timing, I would say fuel.
A friend has a '91 Corsica.. Same thing happening... Turned out to be plugged fuel filter. It's good if it's that, cheap 'n' easy!
If not fuel filter, maybe injectors.
