Default Car died

okay i was racing an celica GTS and i popped it into third and everthing just died. bought a new distributor and wasn't that. and than me and my buddies redid the timing because it jumped 180 degrees, and tried starting it again but it still sounded the same. we than took out the spark plugs and it smelled like gasoline, but than the 4th spark plug bottom end was all smashed up by the piston... what could it be???

If it was the valve timing, [timing belt] that jumped 180 degrees you have done damage to the engine, at the very least you have bent some valves.

"tried starting it again but it still sounded the same" sounded like what? 94

cam may have seized. this would explain timing being out 180 degrees. piston may have hit and broken a valve which ricocheted into the spark plug.
or maybe the rod let go forcing the piston into the spark plug.

run a compression test. i'm sure you won't be happy with the results though

when they seize, you will still be able to move them by hand. they seize because of friction due to loss of oil pressure when the engine is running. is there oil around the cam lobes? or does the cam(s) look dry and a bit dark? specifically the exhaust cam

I agree.....If your plug is smashed, then look towards your block. YOur engine is done. Time for a rebuild. Don't street race.

dam sorry for the long reply. just got married and is having a kid soon. rebuilded my block but didn't have the time to post it up. and bought a new head. found out what was wrong. Broke a valve and dropped into cylinder number 4, cylinder walls was all scratched up, and my head was ****ed. Bought nippon 82mm low comp. piston because couldn't afford forged yet.

That's exactly what happend to my friend's DSM GST...cylinder #3. When I pulled the spark plug out and saw little pieces of metal I knew his motor had become nothing more than a paper weight......dude...thanks for the update! I see a lot of threads where people never follow-up or provide any kind of update to their problem. MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!

got the car running today, took it for a test drive, felt really nice and smooth.
than when i was about to drive it to work gasoline started squirting out of injector number 3. stopped it and took my older brothers car. gotta wait till tomorrow to take a look at the inject seal. sucks.
