Default Car bogs when warm.

I posted this in tech forums, but this forum seems to get more views.

My car bogs bad and I get some ping from the motor when the car is warmed up. I think it's a fuel related problem.

Here's the deal. I replaced the fuel filter and ran some fuel injector cleaner through my system. I'm starting to think that it's the fuel pump that's going out. Shouldn't the motor bog when cold and when warm? My motor only bogs when it's warm.....

I changed the plugs, fuel filter, checked the cap/rotor, replaced the O2 sensor.

i have exactly the same problem - car drives perfect when cold but when fully warmed up theres a lag betwee 1-3K (from the line). sometimes it drives perfect but i've done a tuneup and replaced the o2 sensor.

Cars run rich when cold. If the car is warm, but the sensor is giving a false reading and making the ecu think the coolant temp is cold you would run rich. Running rich at low rpm could cause a bog, then as rpm increases the excess fuel would burn better and the car would smooth out. This may or may not be your problem, its just easy to check it if you have a manual.

thats an interesting one, But this seems to be quite a few things that need to be checked out. It's obvious that it only occurs before 4K. Any one else on the coolan temp sensor?

this also is true with the intake air temp sensor. If it thinks the intake air temp is colder than it actually is it will run rich.

You're obviously running rich.

Are you throwing a CEL?

no CEL for me and doesn't look like it for the op.. I actually doubt its the coolant temp sens since my car reaches operating temp fine. so now there are 3 possibilities regarding sensors; TPS/IAT/MAP..

i doubt it's the MAP sensor too since when the fails the car completely bogs misfires etc.

It's either the TPS / IAT sensor if the problem is sensor related..

I believe you can check the resistance in the sensors according to your manual to make sure they are within operating specs.

they may be reporting a bad voltage lvl to the ECU

check the connecting clips of the 2nd O2S heater, sometime, they can be bumped, and bad connection is made, check your codes first...
