Can anyone tell me if i can replace that top cube part that has a big bolt on it ? Driver side its rusted

 

I already answered your question it's part of the frame as in not removable unless you wan to cut and weld but I don't recommend that at all seeing as it hold the subframe. Take a wire brush to it and scrub the surface rust off

 

damn are you serious?? It dosent look like it will hold much longer i had people tell me i could take it off as in replace

 

It looks solid to me seriously take a wire brush or sand paper to it then re-consider. Yes it is but it's a pain to do if you are new to working on cars

 

How is that piece fastened on that it won't come off? It looks like cast iron. Maybe it's just a spacer? You sure it doesn't come off if you remove the subframe?

OP....you're worried about that piecr not lasting. Look down toward the bottom of the picture. It's all rusted. It's all going to rust normally.

 

Yeah i mean most of it its all surface rust but looking at that piece im like dang but it dosent look like its part of the car or i wouldent rust that fast it look like its iron thAt comes off

?? The whole picture is rust. Why are you focusing on that one piece? I could see it standing out if nothing else was rusted. It's all rusted. Why do you think it'll fall apart?

 

Because everything else can be replaced dont know about that piece

 

You can check by loosening the subframe bolts a little and seeing if it moves.

 

Are we looking at the same picture? I dont see anything rusted through that badly...

Those are spacers. They are separate from the subframe. You can replace them if you like, or refinish them. It looks like surface rust to me.

 

Sand blast and paint/powdercoat if you want to get rid of the rust for cosmetic purposes. It's a cast iron spacer. It's not falling apart.
