I have an LS with JG 301s and Skunk2 cam gears. These are the first pair i have put in my ls. THey do add a significant amount of power adn will have more of a potential if u also have I/H/E and a FPR. The idle on non-VTECs with cams sucks. I heard cams on VTEC cars dont have as bad idle as on an ls. I can live with the idle cuz i like the power. The power can be felt in the higher powerband, anywhere above 3000 rpm.

hey there, i got a pair of GUDE street cams in my LS and its pretty nice i dont have them tuned yet, so i dont know the full potential of them. they make their power from 2500rpm on up to redline. the power from my untuned Gude cams is alot more then i got from my i/h/e. i think on http://www.gude.com they have some dyno charts and stats so you can see the gains. Also crower has dyno charts of their 403s and 404s. my idle is alright, it shakes alittle with the cams which isnt that bad. but if u dont care about your idle then people say get some crower 404s. no my car has stalled with the cams. good luck with your choice.

the only prob. on the crower charts is the big power gains on the 403's are with lotsa mods...they dont show just i/h/e with cams...

Yeah, I'd like to hear all of your experiences myself. I'd like to get some good street cams for my LS as well, but I want a stock (or near stock) idle.

Any of you with cams (and other mods) have any ET's for comparison?

well, weather its true or not is one thing. If anyone has bothered doing it is another. Besides, most of the LS owners for any owners for that matter that have the common bolt ons dont re inforce the bottom end or build the engine to accomidate high RPM's. Has anyone with cams in a LS with bolt ons reprogramed the ECU??

How much are you asking for the cams? Will I need new valve springs, retainers, and a P&P to utilize them?

Yes, I've never heard of that grind before, and would like to know a little more as well as how much you are asking. THanks!
