Is the GS-R cams the same as the Civic Si Cams??

I know that the 2000-2001 ITR cams are the same as the CTR cams, but I was wondering if the GS-R and Si's have the same cams as well.... LMK-

 

nope. its a different head. b16a for SI and b18c1 for GSR.

 

So if my friend swapped in some B18C1 cams in his B16A motor, will it give him gains? Is the GS-R cams bigger? Got any specs on both?

 

Don't have specs or anything but I've heard on this board that there are slight gains. Very slight gains.

 

If I'm not mistaken, CTR cams are slightly different from ITR cams. I think the CTR cams are a little better for a drop in mod without tuning.

 

I read that the 97-99ITR cams are different, but the 2000-2001 ITR cams are the Same as CTR cams...

 

The exhaust cams on the Integra type r and ctr are the same, but the ctr has a larger intake cam.

 

CTR intake cam has 3 degrees more duration than the ITR cam.

 

Does anyone know if the Itr cams can handle the stock gsr valvetrain? Or it needs to be upgraded? Btw when changin out the cams. Would it be better to just change out the intake side only and keep the gsr exhaust side? Or change them both out for itr? Keep in mind I'm goin to turbo it. So would the itr cams benefit me for turbo or keep my stock gsr one? Thanks for the help.

 

GSR valve springs can handle ITR cams just fine.. if you want, you could just swap in the intake cam only, but unless your funds are really low, why not get both? if you're going to turbo your car, the ITR cams probably wouldn't hurt, but then again it's not really necessary. turbo GSR is fast enough on stock cams

 

97-99 ITR intake cam has 3 degress less duration than the CTRs, but they fixed that for 2000-2001.

GSR cams have a longer duration than b16 cams and can make for a little cheap power.

I don't want to get ripoff and how much do you think I should pay for new and used for 00-01 itr cams??? Thanks.

 

the GSR cams are said to be better than <U>gen 1 automatic B16 JDM cams</U> but not anything special in comparison to civic Si cams.
dont waste your time swapping out Si cams for GSR cams. really.

ITR or CTR cams are a completely different story though.

I was planning on droppin ITR cams in my GS-R but if the CTR cams are better when it comes to drop without tuning so much i might have to take a look into that!! thanks

 

really, there is virtually NO market for GSR or civic SI cams.
the only buyer is someone that has a bare head and will settle for those stock cams in the time being before they get enough loot for a nice set of cams.

how else do you think I did NOT get rid of my GSR cams in the year+ that they were out of the car? I couldnt give them away!

 

i heard that CTR intake cams used with ITR exhaust cams is a good setup....do anybody have this setup on a stock gsr motor??
