broken shock?
hey guys...my car has really really making a weird noise lately...its making a thumping sound on the front-driver side..i thought it sounded like a flat tire sound..but it got louder and louder....everything was ok..then like 2 minutes drivin down the road then all of a sudden it started makin that noise...all of a sudden...but when i step on the brake it doesn't make that noise..is this a shock problem...anyway to fix it ? and how much for a new one...thanks
hey i think you have what I just fixed. Every time I turned and sometimes when I hit a bump I heard a clicking grinding noise. It's most likely a front axle. When you lower your car the axel bends upward and can sometimes grind with the transmission. I had a bad axle and a torn cv boot and it can be pretty dangerous, so i suggest you go get that checked out! I hope I helped.
I bet it is your axel.
How many miles do you have?
pull off your front wheels and check if the CV joints are split open.
an axel runs about $150 or so.
It shouldnt be a hubbearing problem becasue hondas used a sealed hub.

yea my new axle cost $205 for the axle and labor so it's not that big of a problem! also if you just have a torn cv joint you probably want to just replace the whole axle because the labor to do the cv joint is only about $30 less than getting a whole new axle!
Sounds like you messed up one of your CV Joints. I would replace the whole axle. TheDriveShaftShop.com has acura stage-1 axles for 150 a peice. They get them to you quick as well. They are not hard to replace at all yourself.. unless the old axle doesnt want to come out.. then it can be hard. But it sounds like thats what the prob is.. good luck
