How often are you doing it? are just testing to see how far it hits the rev limiter?...but yes upgrade the valvetrain!

maybe once in a while, but not a daily thing. Puts extreme wear on your valve train, especially if its stock.

I accidentally did it once, I waited too long to shift into third. It scared the hell out of me, but everything's been ok since..

well redlinning often/daily on stock internals is ok isnt it? I know not to bounce off the rev limiter, but it happens once in a while..I didnt think it was harmful because thats what its for. To prevent over rev....I was having a talk with someone and i was told to upgrade my valvetrain if i want to redline often because a stock gsr isnt designed to redline frequently...?

The problem with bouncing off the rev limiter is that it kills the fuel to stop the engine from revving, which could cause detonation.

That said, I've bounced off mine plenty of times during autocross, without any signs of it causing problems yet. Think the worst was 5 or 6 bounces, there just wasn't enough time to justify shifting and I wasn't about to lift.

same here, i bounce off the rev limiter occasionally when autocrossing... and many other hondas bounce off their limiters at my region. I would imagine it's normal, since honda trannies are so short.
