Bad Starter?
On my way back from HIN in New Jersey I stopped for gas and the car didnt start it just made a whiring sound when I turned the car over. Today I checked the manual and I directly connected a power wire from the battery to the starter and it made the same noise. I searched but the only thing I found was problems with the ground coming loose. Where is the ground on the starter? The car only has 50k on it I wouldnt think the starter died.
Yeah not much info here on starters using search as I was in this predicament not to long ago and found little info. It could be your starter but you didnt provide enough information.
The amount of miles has somewhat to do with a starter going bad but water is actually the starters worst enemy...Do you drive thru puddles or hose down your engine often? (you shouldnt)
If you want to fix the starter....a rebuild should cost under $100 and takes only a couple of hours. You should remove the starter yourself and take it to a good place.
Rebuilding is better than buying new IMO with hondas. The Nippondenso (original) you have in your car is worth $400. The ones you buy from bosch and other manuf at auto parts stores are $200 starters.
Take your pick: A rebuilt $400 starter for $80 bux or a new $200 starter...they last the same.

I dont think it was water issue I havent washed the engine or had it in large puddles, the starter just makes a spinning sounds (wizzing noise, like a dremel tool) like it isnt moving out to start the car. If it was a ground problem the starter wouldn't spin right?
