Default B18b1 internals

I gotta lsVtec swap in my teg. When I ripped the engine apart work had already been done to it, I was under the impression it was a bone stock b1 when I bought it. My question is about the rods. I don't remember them being stamped with any numbers on them, but they were forged rods, do b1s come stock with forged rods? It was bored and sleeved so it wouldn't surprise me if it had new rods put in it too.

I didn't think so.. But my dude that helped me with the build even said they were forged, n so did his grand dad.. N his grand dads one of those old school car guys, master mechanist n all that.. So I know there forged. So do u tho the stock crank would handle the high rpms? It has new bearings in it too.. I just don't make the money that I used to n have put close to 15k into the car, I'm not trying to blow up my engine, can't afford to replace it.

as long as everything is within good tolerances and is balanced out properly I'm sure it can take decently high rpm. How high are you planning to go?

Well I've taken it to right around 8500.. I don't really gotta go higher then that. I just want it to hold at 8500 n not blow up
