Default B18B1 Head work

I will be sending my head out next week and I would like some feedback on what I should get done for more power. Daily driver and the ocational race I think that I want the most power on the top end. Any ideas on cams? Valves & springs? Headgasket? I would like to raise the c/r too.

One piece of advice: GO TO PORTFLOW. Look what they did to my B18A cylinder head:

before sending the head u should make up your mind on what cams to use - so that the porter can P/P the head based on the cam profiles.

PORTFLOW

Raising the compression by shaving the head is wasting the head especially if it's gonna be port and polished and getting a valve job. just put high compression pistons. ( costly though )

on cams, crower 403 LS cams are quite good. making power on low or high rpms can depend on the cam gear settings but the P/P head will surely help. do some more reading about other ppl setups to compare and contrast the power made and the cost of their set ups. ( i.e. FI or lsvtec)
i heard that 404 cams are not that good on stock LS compression (too low) ... someone pls. correct me if i'm wrong.
