Default B18A Question

Im in the process of learning about motors and what not, quick question..

I have rod knock on my B18A usdm 93 integra LS
I found a b18a out of a 1990

My question, is there any difference between a 90' LS motor and a 93 LS Motor? any real significant difference?

As far as I know they both have b18a engines so everything should be the same.

it's not a a/b difference though. If the 90' engine is all you can than I guess that's fine. You will have less HP and torque. Also you'll have to use your intake manifold (fuel rail too) and distributor. Are you sure it's a thrown rod? The easiest swap will be a 92-95' engine, so a b18a1 from 92-93 or a b18b from 94-95. You'll have 2 more HP with the b18b (woo) and a younger engine and won't have to convert to a different obd.

Doesn't the B18 on 90-91 have 10 less HP than the 92+ B18?

the 92-93 cams are "slightly" bigger.. and the fact that its obd1 thats the power increase so if you just do the block it will be exactly the same.. not shur if the head itself excluding cams has any differences
