whats up guys, new member to the forum page but have used this page for a lot of the info i know about the build i wanna do. im stuck on what cams will fit and be an upgrate from stock cams. ive heard of people putting b16 cams in the b18 heads but not sure if that would change from say b18b b18c and b18a's. so my question is what would be a good cam set to put in it for a turbo set up. im also stuck on finding out what year the motor is because i need to adjust the valves and from what ive read the adjustment is different between the b18a models from 90-91 and 92-93 on the intake side and about the same on the exhaust side. how would i figure out what year the motor is without the vin plate on the bottom of the block (someone took it off the block). last question would be if the marks in the pictures on the inside of the block are casting marks or heat/stress cracks.

You really need to do a lot more research. The b18a and b18a1 are very...very different engines.

 

it is the b18a1, and ive done a lot of research to even get where im at with my knowledge of the build that im looking into doing
