Hey all, getting down to the end of the swap, and im having a problem with my drive axle(passenger side axle). I dont know if i have the wrong axle or when, but it seems like it keeps popping out after i put the wheel on and lower it back to the ground. I thought it was the tranny not catching, but i know now thats not the problem. When i have the wheel off, and am messing with the assembly and axle, it seems like the axle wants to keep popping out, i dont know what the issue may be. Somone local told me that it might be that im using an non abs axle on an abs vehical, is there a difference between the two axles, and is that somthing that would make it pop out about 1/4 to 1/2 inch, or does somone out there think that the axle im using might be damaged, im not sure, and i dont wanna spend the money on a neww axle if i dont have too, somone please help me i wanna be driving this bad boy by july 1st

 

what axles are you using with what swap in what car??

 

JDM_LS swap into a 93 civic ex, and i ordered b series axles for a 94-01 integra, they didnt say if they were abs or not when i ordered them, kinda weird i think, kinda seems like the drive axle is too short now, like by 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch.

the axles should fit, mabie they gave you the wrong ones.

abs axles are the same length as non-abs. the abs ones just have weights on them..

 

thanks for the info thrasher, i think i might have seperated my axle inside the boot itself, due to pulling on it after inserting it into the trans, not sure, i think im gunna go get a new axle from autozone with a lifetime warrenty, so when it go's , its free, thanks for the help man

 

Hey can you shake your axle right where it plugs in? My axle pops out after I speed and I have to pop it back in place. I'm wondering if its my tranny or my axle too... But I'm about to go buy new axles at Autozone with the lifetime warrenty and see if it works. If not then I guess its my tranny.

 

lol, thats funny, i came to the same conclusion that im also going to autozone to get the same lifetime replacement axles, ill let you know how things go with me, i really hope its not my tranny, i just got this motor shipped in from tigerjapanese.com , and if it is gone, trust me, they will be getting a pretty nasty phone call, and email, and letter...lol, and if can tell me how things go for you please do, one of my friends told me that the axle shouldnt pop out so easily also, he said that every time he changes his out, that he has to use a screw driver or a pry bar to get it out of the tranny , and i know mine just pops right out, did you buy your axles online too, cause if so i think thats the issue, cheap axles that are probably rebuilt...good luck with your axles, i know i need luck with mine, i wanna drive this car by my b-day(july 1st) and am hoping this really happens.

 

Well I got my from a local shop for 70 bucks. The first 1 broke after a week and I got a new 1. This 1 has lasted for like 3 months but now its starting to pop out after I go fast.
Its not like yours though where it's easy to pop out. Mine actually gets stuck but It's like loose right where it connects because I can shake my axle around but it wont pop out. Only pops out if I smash. But I've been driving like this for about a month now and I've had to pull over on the freeway like 4 times to pop it back in. So I'm really hoping it's just the axle lock thats broken, If its my tranny I think I'm going to sell it and just buy an ITR tranny.

 

my guess its that its not the tranny. I have had countless problems with rebuilt and autozone axles. If you have the $ try raxles or driveshaftshop...never had a problem with either.

just got done fixing the car it was defiantly the axle, the car drives great, but i do have one question, my car runs fine, but mu biddy has the same swap and he has 2 map sensors on his ls swap, and i have only one hooked up, he said i needed to slice in a second connector and run it to a second map sensor has anyone ever heard of this, i think im just gunna make another post about this issue, good luck to you though, hope its just your axle too.
