auto/manual conversion
yeah, i am looking to convert my shitty auto to manual and i was wondering what everyone's opinion on which tranny to get?? the ls is cheapest, the gsr has good gear ratio, so i've been told, and the itr, i've heard is really nice, but a bit pricey. let's say i have a 1K to spend on it which one should i go after, i have a gs. or should i just get a whole gsr engine/tranny swap at once?? yeah, i dont know, gimmie some thoughts.

long gears NOT good for turbo. to the original poster, a b16 or gsr tranny would be a good bet.

I just got done doing my auto to manual swap... Unless you really wanna go in depth and make yourself crazy....... I would not suggest doing it.....
But I am using the LS tranny on mine.... I'll see how that works out...

I converted mine from auto to manuel, I have to argee it take's a lot time to do it.
But, I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
If it's something you been thinking about for awhile now, and have the time and money, go for it.

about how long did it take you guys that have already done this to complete? say once you got all the tools and parts together, how long would it take a moderately advanced mechanic to do this?
I think it can be done in 3weeks, after you've collected all the parts nesscary. The reason it took so long for mine was cause the tranny got sent out to get rebuilt.
So I mostly waited around for those guy's to finsh.

Well....... It's taken me about 2 months..... It shouldn't take that long... But I only have an hour or so at nite to work on it and I was the only one doing it... Plus I would keep running into problems like me not knowing a thing about honda's or missing a random part and waiting a week for it to come in....... All kinds of weird stuff... It shouldn't take long if you have people helping you and you know what you are doing........
