Default Antenna up when cd on.

Need some help. My antenna should go down when I have a cd in my player. I just noticed that it always stays up whether I'm listening to radio or a cd. When I turn my deck off it goes down. Any suggestions on how to make the antenna go down when i put a cd in the deck. Thanks.

wire a switch and mount it in the center console..thats what im doing and its very simple. turn it on when you want it up and listengin to the radio or off when cd is in.

Easy mod for you to do in a few hours of spare time...

http://www.sandmracing.com

Go to the "mods" section. Go to the "electrical" section. Click link for "antennae mod." Easy to do.

be happy that yours actually goes down. mine has a jacked up ribbon attached to the motor for the antenna, so the antenna NEVER goes down... it really pisses me off. actually, i know i could fix it in like an hour, but i am just too lazy/busy...

man, i think you should just shave it... but if your on a low budget or just wanting to have your antenna always down, just open up your trunk casing and just unplugged the antenna motor.. quick easy and simple... no more going up and looking like a rc car....lol good luck man

I think with a stock deck, the antenna stays up when it's on regardless. Makes the integra look like a giant RC car

I have an Alpine deck, got rid of the antenna deal...

Mine did the same. Acura replaced it under warranty... said that it's common if you drive "fast" with the antennae up. Mine must have bent slightly on the Vegas drive (100mph). Apparently our antenna's aren't the greatest. Try the dealership if you're still under warranty.

However, that mod that I posted saves this trouble from happening again...

Or you can always just opt for XM radio and shave the stock antenna

i am thinking that i am just gonna take it out. i NEVER listen to the radio, ever, so i have no need for it. i have an alpine headunit, so there is no need for the antenna. i guess i will just look into either shaving it or doin an s2000 antenna on it. who knows.

Once u install an aftermarket deck, that should go away thankfully. Some decks still dont know the diff between radio and CD and send the antenna up anyhow.

Personally, 2k antenna mod for me!
