Default Air Intake

I have a 99 integra with a B16A Vtec and I am interested in getting a good quality cold air intake. Any advice on what I should go with? I intend to turbo-charge the car in the future if that makes a difference. I'm going for performance! Thanks

Charissa

Go on ebay, or nopi, get the CHEAPEST short ram intake you can find. It will be in the neighborhood of $20. It is no better or worse than a $200 AEM V2. Stick a K&N Filter on the end of it, and if your feeling adventurous wrap it up with exhaust tape, maybe make a spiffy little heat shield for it. But always buy the cheapest tube, a tubes a tube.

if you live in a area where it tends to rain or flood a lot, then I'd look into the comptech ice box sytem or just a short ram intake. Everyone who runs these cold air intakes in the winter time usually ends up hydrolocking their motor, then coming onto h-t to complain about it.

if you plan on DDing your teg. don't get cool air. if it rains your screwed on less you have a bypass. just get a short ram and heat tape it. don't buy anything ecspencive, b/c its just a 3'' tube w/ a filter.

just get a cone filter and drop it in the stock airbox if you are going to turbo later.

None of you mentioned anything about being carb legal. I'm not sure how it is in PA, but if cops are bad, you may want to think about getting an AEM. They are perfectly legal to have and will help avoid fines in the future if the law ever tries to get you.

I dont think emissions was that big of a problem in PA. I never had a problem. Although I only had my stock airbox with a comptech filter in it. Who knows..

Here in Texas, NO ONE gets messed with for illegal car parts. Seriously, I can't even imagine what you guys go through. Do cops just pull you over and sit your car up on a jack, looking for illegal parts? I guess I don't get it.

If you don't want loud, then yeah WSII or you could try the RSR Ex-Mag. Either or.
