Default Air Conditioner Problem

Sometimes my AC will work for about 20 mintues, then it will stop working and blow hot air. If I shut the car off and then back on it seems to fix the problem for another 10 mintues.

I thought the freon might be low so I bought some recharge at autozone. I connected it to the connector right above the radiator ( I believe this is the low pressure one, i lost the cap for it). I followed the instructions, turned car on, AC to max, the pressure reading was like 60 psi, in the red when the AC compressor was off, then when the compressor came on it about in the yellow (charged) around 40 psi.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds like youre having circulation problems. My guess would be compressor or bypass valve (i think thats what its called).

I found one of the fan fuses was blown. The 20amp one. I believe that is for the radiator though. I think its been blown for a long time, because I havn't heard the fan come on in a while.. So I replaced that fuse and it seems to work now. Its that very cold though. I think I may drain the system and recharge it and see what happens.
