Default AEM V2 Intake

I have a b18c with aem v2 intake. I took the extension off but it still gets soaked by the rain is this bad? I dont drive it threw puddles or anything like that and not a big fan of driving it in the rain cause it gets soaked.

And am I really even gaining anything from this intake or can I take it off sell it and then by a short ram and get the same performance?

if your filter is soaked that is VERY bad, your engine is sucking in water which is not good. Get a splash shield for around the filter and a bypass valve if you want to keep it, or just buy a short ram

After i put on my CAI the filter would be somewhat soaked with water. Although its wet it wont be enough to hydro-lock your engine. I would suggest getting a splash guard for the front right wheel. It will fix everything and still allow more then enough air flow. Thats what i did and it works just fine

You would either have to go to a shop that does work on cars, like body work, mechanical etc. Or you could get it a dealership to order it. Although it would probably be alot more there. There fairly simple to put on so, if you order it from ebay you could do it yourself.

You can easily just order it online, but that would be a waste of money.

Go with a short ram, you will see zero noticeable loss anyhow. It will be much smarter to do that then risk the chance of hydro-lock in the future.

Switch out intakes every now and then? CAI in the dry season, stock in the wet season.

And your point? Get to work on your "ls-vtech"...but perhaps learn to spell vtec first ricer.

OP, you will probably only get between $30-60 tops if sold to a knowledgeable person. Put in your stock air box and purchase a spoon replacement filter No chance of hydrolock
