i've got an aem v2 and love it! this is the only c/a intake i've had so i don't have anything to compare it against but i do believe i have better gains from about 5000rpm's on up, and when vteccccc kicks in it definitly pulls harder! i got mine for $250 shipped from rpm motoring. imo, get the v2

For the price you pay for the V2, you could have the Comptech Icebox setup. Better low/midrange gains, and no risk of hydrolock. Search around. You'll find many on this board who can vouch for this setup. If you're set on the AEM, I would just get the regular version. Look in the classifieds. Someone is always selling one. No need to pay $200+ for an intake. There are other mods out there.

HP gains are different through the powerband. However, there peak HP gain are identical believe. The sound of the comptech intake is much quieter than the AEM intake.

for the comptech icebox setup you need to get the air intake kit as well correct? How much is that total?
