Default AC question..

my AC have not been working for a while. i'm pretty sure its the compressor. If I buy a new compressor, receiver/dryer and condensor and replace it and plan on taking it to a place like jiffy lube or someplace so that they can recharge it, do i have to worry how much compressor oil is in the system already? Don't they vacuum out everything including the oil b4 recharging? or do i still have to measure how much oil to put in the compressor. thanks

if your simply low on refridgerant, the cut-off switch will prevent the compressor from kicking on....just my .02

Your most reliable answer to that will be from the place you are going to go. I'm sure they will add what is necessary.

Or you could recharge it yourself. It's really easy. I just fixed mine.

Leaking hardline. Took it off, had a place seal it, put it on, and recharged.

Had to charge it to find the leak. Didn't take much heheh.

If it's empty you don't have any. You're not R-12 OR R-134a. What year of vehicle? I hear you'll save a lot of $ by using 134a, but that's your call.

I didn't say you'd have to switch anyway, so that's irrelevant. Same hoses and lines.
