AC problem
I don't know yet. I am taking it in to the shop tomorrow. I basically went through the entire system and cleaned/replaced every part except for the compressor. The system will have to be hooked up to the gauges to properly diagnose if the compressor is bad or not. I was hoping FCM would see the thread and jump in since he is the AC guru around here.
You do not need to turn the compressor, once refrigerant is in the system the oil will be suspended and moved throughout the system.
System should be nitrogen pressure checked before put on a vacuum pump and recharged.
I like to have systems under nitrogen for 8-12 hr, but 1 hr is minimum, once under vacuum for 1 hr the valves, [on gauge manifold] should be closed for 10 min. to see if the system will hold vacuum, holding pressure and holding vacuum are two different things and are not mutually inclusive, you can have one without the other and you must have both. 94
